Sustainability Report 2022
Sustainability report exploring Re:food's impact management process, initiatives, and performance in 2022.
Executive summary
This is Re:food's first sustainability report, and a candid account of a year defined by learning. In 2022, sustainability moved to the core of how Re;food invests: applying systems thinking to back solutions that address the underlying problems of the food system rather than its symptoms.
The report walks through the year's foundational work, from the segment strategy that divided our four themes into prioritized, investable areas, to the Solvable Fit due diligence sessions that build a Theory of Change for each company, to the steps we took to meet our obligations as an SFDR Article 9 fund and bring ESG into our sourcing, diligence, and holding work.
It closes with an honest look at where we still have gaps, our ambitions for deeper sustainability integration, and our portfolio at year end, including our first Principal Adverse Impact reporting and case studies on Planted and Everytable.
We believe in paradigm shifts, not incremental solutions. We invest in companies addressing the underlying problems of the food system, not its symptoms.
